Dora Giannitsi – Culture Award
A special and glamorous personality of Culture is Mrs. Dora Giannitsis, Doctor of Historical Sciences of Moscow State University, actor and President of the Moscow Centre for Greek Culture, who works incessantly for the promotion and dissemination of Greek Culture and the strengthening of Greek-Russian intercultural relations.
He was born and raised in Athens, where he graduated with “excellent” from the Experimental School of the University of Athens. In 1989, while he was admitted to the Historical-Archaeological Department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens, he left on a scholarship from the Association of Greeks from Russia to study, where he graduated from the Historical School of Moscow State University “Lomonosov”.
With roots from Russia on the part of her father and grandmother, who were Crimean Greeks, she was burning with a fervent desire to meet the great second country, for which she listened so much at every Sunday family table.
She continued her studies as a fellow of the Foundation “A.S. ONOSIS” and completed her doctoral thesis entitled “The Greek world at the end of the 18th – early 20th century. at the same time he graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts – GITIS, receiving a degree in acting art.
He worked as a scientific associate in
the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Greek Embassy in Moscow with a wide range of responsibilities.
In the summer of 2005 he enthusiastically accepts a proposal by a small group of expatriates to take over the management and coordination of a Hellenic Culture Centre (C.E.P.), which was founded at the
time, which aims at the dissemination of Greek culture in Russia, the strengthening of Greek-Russian cultural relations. On a daily and weekly basis there are courses of Greek language, Greek traditional dance, choir and theatre workshop, on a monthly basis lecture cycles are organized for Greek history, literature, architecture of the Greek world, our archaeological monuments, whil
