The musical program was successfully held with Byzantine hymns and chants on Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Church of Saints Konstantinos and Eleni Piraeus, in the context of the worship and cultural events of Constantineia, by the Piraeus Women’s Group “EXALEIPTRON”, in collaboration with the Temple.
The “Ideal Hymn of the Byzantine Member and the Original Tradition” Nektaria Karantzis, with the austerity of a single voice, without organic and vocal accompaniment, her own angelic voice and the deep interiority of her interpretation, combined with the sanctity of the space, created an atmosphere of imposing cataclysmic emotion, as if with the help of the eyes of the saints to convey themselves the images of the Orthodox tradition.
The speech by Vassilis Tsampropoulos, who has been described by the New York Times as “a magician of sound and a rare musician”, fully integrated into the climate of the evening, was a deeply philosophical approach to our relationship with the Divine and the imprint of God, which we all somehow bear.
The head of the Holy Temple of the First Elder p. Ioannis Panagiotou, after thanking the two great artists and the president of “EXALEIPTRON for the initiative, declared with fervor his satisfaction with the event and gave commemorative copies of the Saints Isapostolos Konstantinos & Eleni and Panagia Tricherousis.
