Women’s Awards 2016 from “EXALEIPTRON”
Eight separate female personalities will be awarded by “EXALEIPTRON”, Piraeus Women’s Group for Arts, Letters, Culture, Sciences, at the third award of the 2016 Women’s Awards.
The event will take place on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 20:00, at the Palace of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Piraeus Louis 1, (on the side of the ISAP Piraeus station).
The Group established the awards in order to honor worthy female role models, who through their love for their subject matter, their personal toil, their study, abilities and talents, managed to distinguish themselves and their work encourages other women towards creation.
The Science Prize will be awarded to the Archaeologist and Honorary Curator of Antiquities, Dr. Xenia Arapoyianni.
The prize will be awarded by the Professor and Director of the Museum of Cycladic Art, Nikolaos Stambolidis.
The Culture Award will be received by the National Ambassador of Greece to the Council of Europe for Sport, Tolerance and Competition and President of the Panhellenic Women’s Sports Association “KALLIPATEIRA”, Katerina Panagopoulou.
The prize will be awarded by the Mayor of Piraeus, Giannis Moralis.
The Theatre Award will be given to theatre director and artistic director of the Theatre Lab Company of London, Anastasia Revi.
The prize will be awarded by the Journalist and General Manager of Alpha 989 Athens – Thessaloniki, Spyros Charitatos.
The Dance Award will be received by the 1st Ballet Dancer of the National Opera, Maria Kousouni.
The prize will be presented by virtuoso pianist, Panagiotis Trochopoulos.
The Prize for the Art of The New Media will be received by the Visual Artist, t. Associate Professor of the Department of Sound and Image Arts of the Ionian University, Marianna Strapatsaki.
The prize will be awarded by the Assistant Professor of Astrophysics, Astronomy and Engineering of the University of Athens, Dr. Manos Danezis.
The Prize for Literature will be awarded to the Author – Philologist Paschalia Travlou.
The prize will be awarded by the Professor of the Athens University of Economics, Dimitris Bourantas.
The Sports Award will be received by the Olympic champion and President of the Association of Greek Olympians, Voula Kozomboli.
The prize will be awarded by P. Mayor of Marathon, Honorary President of the International Association of Mayors for Peace and Ambassador of the Marathon Street Flame, Spyros Zagaris.
The Women’s Entrepreneurship Award will be awarded to the CEO of Navigator Shipping Consultants and creator of the iforu – Greek Mentoring Network, Danai Bezantaku.
The prize will be awarded by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Piraeus and the Hellenic Confederation of Trade and Entrepreneurship of Greece, Vasilis Korkidis.
The event will be presented by the Journalist – Central Presenter of the News Bulletin of “Epsilon TV”, Nancy Kostara.
The prizes were designed and offered by sculptor Dimitris Kostas.
